Somewhere in time, exactly, somewhere in May, 2008, this site appeared in the Internet. The English version of popular (among couple of hundred Russian-speaking audience) Russian language Community of Freethinkers (at dooma.ru).
A year of No-shit! But what the shit? There is almost no audience since year ago, unless I've promoted site at Facebook, Orkut and MySpace.
I thought the non-Russian speaking people are less hanged-up and more liable to freethinking. But it seems I was wrong.
I didn't like the Orkut, Facebook and MySpace... There are no thoughts (I don't mean that in their Russian clones are a lot of it), just exchanging emotions and short phrases.
Russia (and other post-Soviet states) are stagnating on thoughts. The communist regime breakout in 1991 created some vacuum of ideology and beliefs, and following 10 years period was comparatively bright and intellectual. People had interested in everything and was ready to act, to advance, to think.
Then, Russia became the standard society of consumers (what totalitarianism you talking about? yes, there is some sort of it, just a shadow of Soviet real one, but nobody cares, everybody cares about consumption). Like Western ones. But some people still are not just a consuming vegetables, some people are interested in freethinking.
I thought English-speaking world will give me 40-50 times more interesting people than Russian, accordingly to Internet audience.
But something went wrong. As year of no-shit passed, I declare another one year of no-shit. I hope there are some really freethinking (not thinking about freebee and not free of thinking) people in English-speaking world, but it's a hard goal to find them.
If you are not from Russia or other ex-Soviet countries, please leave your feedback there, help me to figure out what's wrong is going on!
Keep no shit in your life! Cya!

The problem, friend, is that we (in the U.S.) as a people are too tightly bound together, too afraid to speak out against 'the man', too afraid to speak out against our employers - etc, the list goes on. But also, we are too afraid, too stupid, to think about it - to think about it by ourselves, or in groups - and those who aren't, who do have a glimmer of intelligence and free thought, are quickly overwhelmed by it all or "put in their place" - we are a country of "freedom", but it is bullshit, period. This is why, unfortunately, and I cite an example: Anonymous VS Scientology. I consider myself to align with Anonymous when the interests suit me and all, and I've been very interested and involved in the destruction of the criminal organization, theChurch Cult of Scientology - and for something as simple and easily understood as how these people are fucking lives up left and right each day and impeding the true spirit and thought of man under the guise of "religion" (but hey, that's about every religion), these people simply do not understand, or care. They only look in their pockets and directly in front of them, looking for a bigger, juicier carrot.
I am a Freethinker. I am Anonymous. I am American. I am Human, I am a free individual, one who is realizing the chains he has been put in since birth, and is working to cut those chains, and free his mind - and my friend, I thank you for keeping such an outpost of intelligence and hope going, especially in different languages so that more than one group of people can see this for themselves (though, to be fair, I noticed my own (previous) stupidity, ignorance, bigotry, and plain hivemind a while ago, and was absolutely appalled at myself - watch Zeitgeist, if you haven't, that is the movie that truly opened my eyes to everything, at least, got me on the right foot in the right direction - it's freely available on Youtube) - and to be completely honest, while I do not know for sure if I am now on a watchlist (for either this or previous activities) I don't really much care, either - I do not try to hurt people, I do not try to violate the rights of others, and I try to expand my own mind - and really, that's all I care about, because without the mind and the gain of intellect, we truly are nothing but automatons, meaningless sheep living a pre-set life with pre-set rules and pre-set goals, pre-set results - I say FUCK that. As Timothy Leary said: Think for yourself. Question authority. Learn how to operate your brain. (This is another thing you should look up on Youtube, and really listen to it, it is the basis of "free thought" to me - but it's all opinion.)
Thank you again, and please do not give up hope, as I have not given up hope, and as the many other people who are starting to wake up and see the world for what it is have not given up hope - no, go on resolute, and keep expanding your minds, keep asking questions, keep learning things, unshackle yourself from the suppression of the people that want to extort you.
Take it easy,
Steve

Thank you for your reply, Steve!
I've already abandoned the English version because of no audience, but I see it worth to continue.
Anyway, you still can read Russian version, dooma.ru, using some ugly automatic interpreteurs.

Eh, the same people is everywhere. But not only in negative meaning. In positive too - freethinking people exist anywhere, but in very small quantity. Keep liberating your mind! Anywhere.
