MEG Energy announces repayment of US$225 million debt

CALGARY, Alta., November 29, 2021 /CNW/ – MEG Energy Corp. (“MEG” or the “Company”) (TSX: MEG) announced today that it has issued a notice of redemption $225 million the aggregate principal amount of its 6.50% senior secured subordinated notes due 2025 (the “Secondary Notes”) at a redemption price of 101.625%, plus accrued and unpaid interest up to on the redemption date, but not included. The redemption is expected to be completed on or about January 18, 2022. Including the repurchase, MEG will have repurchased US$579 million from the original $750 million main balance of second lien tickets, leaving $171 million outstanding principal balance.
